Jeffrey Jones is a graphic designer from Miami, Florida with over 25 years of experience in art. He attended middle and high school for art and graduated from Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) in the design district of downtown Miami. He then went on to attend Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia on a portfolio scholarship, where he double majored in Graphic Design and Motion Graphics. During his time at SCAD, Jeffrey was an active member of the Student Activities Club, winning an award for member at large. He also served as a Parent Assistance Leader and an Orientation Leader for multiple years, and he was recognized as Sophomore of the Year for his achievements in academics and service. Jeffrey has done freelance work for a variety of clients in New Orleans and beyond, most recently creating graphics and logos for clothing, websites, banners, and other branding and promotional materials.
Jeffrey is inspired by nature and his surrounding environment. He is influenced by Jackson Pollack because of Pollack’s organic style of painting using the back splash technique. With this technique, Pollack lets the paint fly onto the canvas. He may use his hands, paintbrushes, or even buckets of paint. This technique can be seen throughout Pollack’s paintings and is a key feature in Jeffrey’s portraits, which are his specialty.
